In January 1999 I joined Grant Thornton (then Audihispana), coming from the now defunct Arthur Andersen where I worked in the Audit Department of the Bilbao office for more than 3 years.
I am currently Director Nacional de Auditoría and member of the Comité de Dirección of Grant Thornton.
I am also president of the Agrupación Territorial of the Basque Country of the Instituto Censores Jurados de Cuentas of España (ICJCE) and a member of its Comisión Económica and of its Regulación.
I have more than 30 years of experience in auditing individual and consolidated accounts, having participated in corporate transactions of sale and purchase, mergers and spin-offs, valuations, IPOs, etc.
Although I have worked for various sectors of activity, my main experience is in companies in the maritime and port sector, as well as of the industry in general.
I have also served as insolvency administrator and liquidator of several insolvent companies.
I participate in Auditing and Accounting Forums organized by the ICJCE.
As an audit professional, regulated activity, fundamental for the economy and with a continuously evolving regulatory framework, I dedicate many hours of the year to training, due to the need to be up to date not only on auditing issues, but also on new accounting and company law developments.
I have a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Comercial de Deusto, Censor Jurado de Cuentas, member of the Registro de Expertos Contables and of the Registro Oficial de Auditores de Cuentas.
I have three children to whom y wife and I (especially her), have dedicated, during their childhood, all the time we could and much more. Now grown up, two of them working and the third one in the 2nd year of University, we continue enjoying with them and sharing trips and family sports such as skiing and paddle.
